Hello world! I’m Allison Van Diest, product marketing manager for Blackbaud NetCommunity. I’ve been with Blackbaud for five years, working in a variety of marketing roles. During my tenure I’ve also been responsible for positioning and publicizing (at one time or another) The Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud Analytics, The Education Edge, and The Information Edge. So I’ve been around a bit.

Before Blackbaud, I marketed a patented printing technology, an Oracle-based financial software package, and eyeglasses. Overall I’ve been a professional ‘marketeer’ for about 12 years.

I’m definitely not a blogger in the traditional sense, but I’m figuring that there are probably plenty of folks out there who aren’t blog readers in the traditional sense and therefore might have patience with an unorthodox style. And if not, those of you who know how this is done are warmly invited to write me and give me some tips!

Meanwhile, I’m going to use this space to share my thoughts on marketing - both the best practices I’ve learned over the years and my thoughts on the way nonprofits think about and use marketing. If there is anything you’d like to see covered, please feel free to make suggestions, either on the blog or by writing me at allison.vandiest@blackbaud.com.

So enough about me, on to the posts!

Hi! I’m Chad Norman, the Internet Marketing Manager for Blackbaud. I’m responsible for using the Internet to generate sales leads for Blackbaud products and services. Though new to this role, I have been with company since 1997. I spent most of those years working on Web-based training and other creative projects, managing mid-sized teams of designers, developers, and writers. My passion has always been the Internet, and that’s how I ended up here at BlogBaud.com.

Prior to Blackbaud, I joined Indiana-based web firm Io Design after graduating from Indiana University in 1995.

Like most Blackbaud employees, I live/eat/breathe nonprofits, technology, and business. That’s what I will be posting about. If you like what you read, subscribe to my feed.
